YUNNAN BLACK: The Earthy One

From the birthplace of tea

This tea takes us back to the birthplace of the first tea, the Yunnan province of China. Dark and smoky, full-bodied, and distinctively earthy.

Our products prioritise high-quality, craft-brewed, ethically sourced tea, allowing the natural flavours to shine through. When brewing kombucha, we only add three things (tea leaves, sugar, and water) to our natural fermentation culture which imparts lots of gut-healthy acids and bacteria.

No. 1 Yunnan Black Kombucha was awarded Gold at the 2022 Great Taste Awards. Great Taste is the world's largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme. We were delighted, and honoured to receive such an accolade.

Distinctively earthy, smoky, and lightly effervescent. Yunnan is a sophisticated, full-bodied kombucha. Thanks to our house culture, Left Field Kombucha naturally contains a host of healthy organic acids and bacteria which contribute to good gut health, promoting a balanced digestive system.

About the Tea

Known as "Dian Hong" in China, Yunnan is a black tea originating from the Yunnan Province. This tea is known for its rich, bold flavour profile with sweet, malty undertones, and subtle floral notes. Made primarily from the large-leaf tea, it often features striking golden tips, which lend a distinctive sweetness and smooth, velvety texture.

Serving

Best served chilled as it comes. Try with a sprig of rosemary. Our Yunnan kombucha is the perfect accompaniment to rich foods, such as curries, pies, and cheese.

You can drink our kombucha straight from the bottle, or pour it into a glass. You may find a little sediment in the bottle, which is made up of harmless yeast and bacteria cells, and is completely normal.

Storing

Left Field Kombucha is a living, unpasteurised drink. To retain its goodness, store in a cool, dark environment until you're ready to drink it.
